leave your message when you hear the squeak [pm post]
I know my PM feature does not work. I don't know why, exactly, but it appears to hate me. So if I've PM'd you and you're trying to reply, post here and I will get back to you as soon as humanly possible.

In response to your PM...
Thank you; I really appreciate that. I think she's a little freaked out because we were writing together yesterday, and at about 10 PM I was like "Uh, pain pain pain, g2g", then ended up in the hospital today. We totally would have finished what we were working on if not for the illness interruption :/

Anyhow, again, thank you for the kind words :)

Just commenting from the PM you'd sent...

Yeah, go ahead and send your stuff along for the calendar.

With the death in the family I had this past week, I had more on my plate than I'd expected, so I'm letting the deadline be a little more relaxed this time around.

aj .. grinning ..
never underestimate a Celtvanitashaze on June 6th, 2008 02:33 am (UTC)
Sorry, but how exactly do I sent it along? I'm a little lost.

(Oh, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?)
Ariestessariestess on June 6th, 2008 02:56 am (UTC)
Send as an attachment to brainshare @ shatterstorm.net and we'll get it.

And yeah, I'm okay. Still getting over the initial shock, but it was something we've been expecting for 7 1/2 years now, so not a TOTAL shock if that makes any sense...
Ariestessariestess on June 9th, 2008 12:39 am (UTC)
Just checking to see if you're still sending along your pieces. I'm piecing together the calendar as we speak and want to make sure I have everything in place.
never underestimate a Celtvanitashaze on June 9th, 2008 04:50 am (UTC)
Well, I'm certainly trying - hotmail continues to be wanky and it's crashing my computer (or vice versa) every time I load it, but that sort of thing - it does it often - usually goes away by the next day or so, hopefully enough time for me to send it on along to you.
Ariestessariestess on June 9th, 2008 11:12 am (UTC)
*nods* I'll need your pieces by 11:59pm PDT tonight for inclusion in the calendar, otherwise I'll have to consider it a default.

So I was looking up 'ramen recipes' on the interest search bar, and you were the only thing that came up. Do you have any to share? :) (Oh, and I couldn't PM you about it, so... )
never underestimate a Celtvanitashaze on June 30th, 2008 06:43 am (UTC)
...HA. Consider me your friendly neighborhood ramen-person, then.

For starters, I'd check out this site. Most of it just common sense, but you know, a lot of it ends up stuff you wouldn't think of... My favorite recipe (technique, really) came from a Thai houseguest a few years back. It's less pasta-y and more soup-ish; very good on cold nights, and as comfort food. For it, you need:

- Teriyaki sauce
- One egg per packet of ramen
- However many packets of ramen you want (one for one person, two for two people, etc.).
- Your choice of vegetables. I use those little cans of corn, and peas, because they're easy; chopped celery and carrots are also good.
- Optional: sweet-and-sour tuna, cashews, extra stir-fry sauce.

Basically, boil 2 cups water. Crack egg into water (don't scramble it). Add the noodles, and a liberal helping of the teriyaki sauce. Cook on low heat until most of the water is boiled away, stirring occasionally. Add whatever vegetables, meat, nuts, you want, and cook for about a minute. A little stir-fry sauce and you're ready to serve.

Hope I was helpful!

Thanks! I'm always looking for good stuff. ^^

A message from Psycherific's Mod
Why Membership was denied

P.S. Posting fics to other comms does not count towards the application. I can see that you do write fic, but I really need you to follow the rules for membership and apply the proper way.

Re: A message from Psycherific's Mod
My apologies - I'm so used to open coms, I forgot to read through to look for any applications that needed filling out. Were I to reapply (the proper way), would that be okay?

Re: A message from Psycherific's Mod
Yes it would be.

Psycherific does not have open membership because it was specifically designed to be a library of stories, and not open to other parts of fandom: fanvids, plotbunny sharing, community pimping and other things that clog up fic communities. To balance this out, Psycherific is not limited to one kind of fic, but there is a mod cap on Non-Con/Rape fics. Those are the only type of fic that require a mod's approval before posting.

Thanks for considering us! ♥

Hi there - tried to reply to your PM and couldn't. It says you've set it to private - maybe you need to play with the settings? Anyway, you have one more day - the ficathon 'ends' on Tuesday at midnight in my time zone, since that's the only one I can work with, eastern time. And since I won't be up at midnight probably, I won't be tallying late entries until Wednesday morning. :)

I've more or less given up on making sense of my insane el-jay settings. But, thank you for getting back to me so quickly - I am freaking out a lot less now, knowing that I have that extra time to edit!

Hee, yours was by far the most amusing message I got about being late, so you get brownie points for that. :D

No worries at all - the official extension date is the 14th, so hopefully that works for you? Just let me know later in the week if you don't think you'll be able to meet it. Thanks very much for contacting me pre-emptively - it's incredibly helpful, vs. me having to track people down. And thanks for the kind words, but the gain of getting 20+ new femslash stories to read is reward in and of itself! :)
never underestimate a Celtvanitashaze on October 14th, 2008 09:48 pm (UTC)
Correction: I'm not sure if I'll be able to meet it. The fic is done, but my scanner is being quite grumpy, and I'm working as fast as I can but may not finish by tonight. So, yes.

*headdesk*

If it's done, you're okay...it'll be harder to find a backup at this point. Just try to get it in asap, ok?
Worralslivii on October 19th, 2008 08:59 pm (UTC)
You may have noticed I did a pinch-hit for your assignment - it had been too long, sorry. If you do have your story, though, do feel free to post it as we always can use more femslash! Thanks!

That's fine, I really dropped the ball on this one. You and celievamp deserve many, many apologies. (Sorry! x infinity)

Okay -- I'd like to ask you to edit your comment to the SGA Big Bang Support group post (http://community.livejournal.com/sgabigbang/51466.html?thread=1297930#t1297930); your tinhat comment is a bit inflammatory, and one of our rules is no bashing.... Perhaps instead you could merely say that your story might not appeal to shippers?

I've also frozen the thread with ca_pierson and the others, in order to avert an argument.

Hey! Just got your message and it won't let me message you back (I see this is a standard problem) so:

What you are looking for is Marilyn Hacker's Love, Death, and the Changing of the Seasons. I just had to look it up in my own LJ backlog because I couldn't remember the title, but it is a pretty fantastic book. I posted a couple of sonnets from it for National Poetry month in 2007, and your memory is very impressive!

xo

Yeah, I hadn't set my email address. This is why OpenID annoys me; it seems overly complicated.

Oh, sorry - I don't know why it does that, but it appears to hate me. I can friend you and then f-lock this comment, if you want.

Hello! I wanted to let you know that the podfic of your story "The Known World" has been posted to the Amplificathon LJ/DW and sgapodfic LJ communities, as well as my own LJ. Thanks again for granting me permission;
I enjoyed recording it and it was a great opportunity to stretch my reading-aloud skills. :)
